The body with vertical ribbing, a flaring cylindrical neck and a double-reeded handle bifurcating where it joins the rim and forms spurs, the entire surface is black-glazed.
The mug was a versatile shape that could be used as a drinking cup, a laddle, or as a measure. For a similar example see, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession no. 1983.571.4.
